Who knew we could feel this way? I think about this all the time as a mom, most recently when lining up to get my boys the H1N1 vaccine. I even used that "claw" metaphor when telling my husband the lengths I would go to in order to get them one of the limited doses available. You capture such a universal feeling of motherhood here. It doesn't go away either when they get older either. Even if you were a sheltered, distant, possibly introverted woman pre-children, once you become a mother you are, at least for your children, a bleeding heart tigress.

I so glad that gum-chewing idiot DIDN'T hit you! And if you hadn't gotten a name or a license plate I might have been on the next flight down to Miami! The youngest is about one-year-old and bigger than my 14-month old. Because she is bigger (and a one-year old), she often takes things from my daughter. Lately, when I watch these interactions, I want to take those toys and give them back to my baby. Nobody messes with her. NOBODY.

Of course, in that situation, I am thinking completely irrational thoughts. However, in the scenario you described? Completely understandable.

PS I came over from momalom. I'll be back (insert Arnold Schwarzenegger voice).amber_mtmchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17871256362646081536noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8201961112490811175.post-18370786165926504902009-11-19T22:13:21.963-05:002009-11-19T22:13:21.963-05:00Ooh, I know that anger.
